PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION NEAR URBANA EMAAR SOUTH

Since Emaar South is still developing, means of public transportation near Urbana are fairly limited at the moment. Residents can easily travel via private conveyance. Nevertheless, they can book taxis in Dubai by using the S’hail app. Other modes of travelling in Dubai, such as Dubai Metro and buses are rather away. 

At Al Maktoum International Airport, Arrivals Bus Stop, you can also board Bus N55 that takes you to Al Ghubaiba Bus Station 6. Staff Village Bus Stop services Bus 56, which stops at Danube Metro Station Landside Bus Stop. For other Dubai Bus routes, you will have to travel outside the community.

UAE Exchange Metro Station is the closest, around 17-minute drive from the area. The Route 2020 metro stations are reachable within 23 to 26 minutes whereas the ones on Sheikh Zayed Road require a 30-minute drive approximately.

This is the largest Sikh temple in the entire Gulf Region and can be visited by non-Sikhs as well for tourism purposes.

Adjacent to Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara, Christians will find many of Dubai’s churches in Jebel Ali. These churches include:

The Arbor School has classes from Foundation Stage to Year 7 based on the British curriculum. The school has six climate-controlled biodomes and an ecological bio farm namely ‘The Arbor School Farm’. Delhi Private School is a CBSE school and one of Dubai’s best schools offering Indian curriculum.

Renaissance School follows the curriculum of the State of New York. For supporting the language-related needs of students, the school has adopted the Next Generation Learning Standards. Social Studies, Islamic Studies and Arabic are taught based on the guidelines of the Ministry of Education (MOE). Classes here range from Kindergarten to elementary stages.

The closest option for a mall is Sapphire Mall in Dubai Industrial City. It lies at an 18-minute drive and houses the Al Madina Hypermarket. Covering a floor area of 400,000 sq. ft., the mall has a few retail outlets and eateries along with the Al Madina Distribution Centre.

Other well-known and larger malls near Urbana Emaar South lie more than 20 minutes away. Some of these include:

Similar to Outlet Mall Dubai, Outlet Village Dubai is a discount shopping mall that houses more than 100 high-end shopping stores. It is a development by Meraas, boasting architecture that draws inspiration from different villages all over the world. Dubai Outlet Village offers the vibe of a European marketplace and has 13 restaurants and cafes too.

Dubai Festival Plaza has more than 120 shopping stores and covers an area of 648,000 sq. ft. Operating under the Al Futtaim Group, Dubai Festival Plaza has up to 40 restaurants and cafes too. The urban lifestyle mall is the second ‘festival’ themed mall in the city.

Ibn Battuta is one of the world’s largest themed malls, with an area of 521,000 sq. m. It is made up of six zones, including Tunisia, Persia, Egypt, China, India and Andalusia and houses a total of 500 shops, eateries and leisure spots. The mall is named after the renowned explorer and scholar Ibn Battuta and welcomes around 20 million visitors annually, making it one of Dubai’s best malls.

Restaurants near Urbana Emaar South can be found in Dubai South and lie within a 5 to 10-minute drive. The nearby casual dining restaurants are:

• Galaxy Star Cafeteria and Restaurant – Sakany Accommodation Dubai South
• Olives Restaurant – Employees Gate, Al Maktoum International Airport

Nook Restaurant serves items from International cuisine while Golositalia is an Italian restaurant. Galaxy Star Cafeteria offers Indian, Chinese as well as African cuisines. At Olives Restaurant, you can order different Indian and Chinese dishes. The Infinity Restaurant deals in Indian and Pakistani dishes.

You can find a number of cafes in the vicinity too. These include:

BEACHES NEAR URBANA EMAAR SOUTH

The closest beach near Urbana is Jebel Ali Beach and it requires a drive of around 23 minutes to reach. It is an open beach with limited developments and facilities. Nevertheless, it is a quick retreat for residents living in the nearby areas. 

You can access more public beaches in Dubai, by driving up to 30 minutes. JBR Beach or The Beach, JBR is a lively beach with tons of activities. As the name suggests, it is located opposite Jumeirah Beach Residence. Besides revelling in the seawaters, you can shop from the nearby retail outlets, dine in the nearby eateries and watch a movie at Roxy Cinemas too. 

The beach is adorned with sea loungers and has many camels, which you can ride. Other water sports available here are wakeboarding, parasailing and banana boat rides for the kids. You can also enjoy spectacular views of the Ain Dubai Ferris Wheel in Bluewaters Island from JBR Beach. 

LEISURE ACTIVITIES AND NOTABLE LANDMARKS

Urbana Emaar South lies in proximity to the Dubai Expo 2020 site. Other notable landmarks near Urbana Emaar South are reachable within 30 minutes. Some of them include:

You can reach Dubai Parks and Resorts in 18 minutes. It has been developed by Meraas and consists of some theme parks, a hotel and a promenade. The theme parks in Dubai Parks and Resorts are Motiongate Dubai, Bollywood Parks Dubai and Legoland. Motiongate Dubai is a cinematic paradise whereas Bollywood Parks Dubai pays homage to the Bollywood industry.  

Legoland, as well as Legoland Waterpark, feature a number of rides and attractions, based on the Lego theme. The promenade namely Riverland has four zones with more than 50 restaurants, cafes and entertainment venues.

Jebel Ali Golf Resort is 21 minutes away. Also known as JA Beach Resort, Jebel Ali Golf Resort consists of a 9-hole, par championship standard golf course. Another highlight of this resort is the David Leadbetter Golf Academy Dubai for learning golf. Other attractions in Jebel Ali Golf Resort include spas, salons, a shooting club, an equestrian centre and many eateries.

Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club lies at a 25-minute drive on the Dubai – Abu Dhabi Border. Covering 300 hectares of green grassland in Ghantoot, the club has stables with more than 300 ponies. It also has a seater grandstand that can accommodate up to 2000 spectators.
